Planting by Chakras

  1. Lately I’ve given a few readings and the topic of chakras kept coming up.

  2. My farm therapist Aja often asks me what I wanna grow and I’ve been holding off on even imagining it in a creative way. I don’t know why I have to always do things creatively but it is what it is.

  3. I’ve also been using The Food Healing Oracle Deck lately which….what do ya know…matches food with chakras!! Yay!!!

So when these synchronicities occur, I gotta pay attention. Using the companion book to the deck as my source has helped me to put the following chart together.

If y’all see any spelling errors or mistakes in the descriptions below (with the exception on what I’m going to plant), know that it was all written using AI. 😬

beets, carrots, spinach, rosemary

The root chakra, or Muladhara in Sanskrit, is the first of the seven main chakras located at the base of the spine. It is associated with the color red and the element of earth. This chakra represents our foundation and connection to the physical world around us, such as our basic needs for food, shelter, and security. It is also associated with our sense of stability, and feeling grounded in our physical body and environment. It is believed that when our root chakra is balanced, we feel secure, safe, and have a strong connection to the physical world.

kale, ginseng

The sacral chakra, or Svadhisthana, is the second primary chakra and is associated with creativity, pleasure, sexuality, and emotions. It is located in the lower abdomen and is represented by the color orange. It is associated with the element of water and is associated with the sense of taste. It is believed to be the center of transformation and connection to our inner power and the divine. When balanced, this chakra allows us to experience passion, joy, pleasure, and connection to our emotions. When out of balance, it can manifest as feelings of guilt, addiction, and depression.

mint, watermelon, garlic, onions

The solar plexus chakra, or Manipura in Sanskrit, is located between the navel and the solar plexus, and is associated with the element of fire. It is the source of personal power and represents our mental and physical abilities that help us to achieve our goals and make our dreams come true. It is also associated with self-esteem and self-discipline. It is important to keep the Solar Plexus Chakra balanced and healthy in order to feel confident and empowered.

sweet potatoes, strawberries, peaches, cherries, sage

The heart chakra, or Anahata in Sanskrit, is the fourth primary chakra in the body. It is located at the center of the chest and is associated with the color green. This chakra is the source of unconditional love, compassion, nurturing, and acceptance. It is linked to our ability to give and receive love, both to ourselves and to others. It is also associated with the element of air, and its associated sense is touch. When this chakra is in balance, we are able to experience unconditional love, joy, and peace.

elderberry, ginger, herbal teas

The throat chakra, or Vishuddha, is the fifth primary chakra of the seven chakras. This chakra is associated with communication, creativity, and expression. It is also connected to the thyroid and parathyroid glands, which are responsible for regulating metabolism. When this chakra is balanced, it can create a sense of inner trust, confidence, and ability to express oneself. It is also believed to be the bridge between the physical and spiritual realms.

basil, mushrooms, blackberries

The third eye chakra, also known as the Ajna chakra, is located between the eyebrows and is associated with intuition, inner vision, and insight. It is believed to be the source of spiritual growth, wisdom, and intuition. The third eye chakra is said to be connected to the pineal gland and our ability to see beyond what is visible to the physical eyes. When balanced, it allows us to access a higher level of understanding and can be a gateway to higher consciousness.

olives, figs

The crown chakra, located at the top of the head, is associated with the color violet and is thought to represent the connection between the physical and spiritual realms. It is associated with higher consciousness, spiritual awareness, and wisdom. It is believed that when this chakra is open and balanced, we can access our spiritual power and have a strong connection to the divine.
